Compassion International

One of the special joys of the last seventeen years has been our relationship with Compassion International, an evangelical Christian child development ministry with a long, solid history of helping children around the world, including those in the United States. Members of Glad have traveled to Compassion projects in Haiti, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Kenya, and most recently Indonesia. There's nothing like a first hand look at Compassion's overseas work to confirm that the ministry is impacting the lives of thousands of children to the glory of God.

More than a relief program, Compassion focuses on the real life needs of children-- spiritual, physical, economic and social. Compassion's programs provide tangible benefits such as education, health monitoring and food when necessary, as well as developmental opportunities that can include formal schooling, skills training, health education, presenting of the Gospel, and motivation to acquire meaningful social skills.
